ABOUT THE PROJECT

The origin of "United for Reading" blog project was in 2010, coordinated by Professor Alessandra Silva. In that period (year), for various personal and professional reasons the blog was not implemented, even though the students had already formulated specific texts to start it. In 2011 the same professor started her doctorate and in 2012 received full clearance to do so, not returning to the institution until the beginning of 2015. Thus, the project was shelved for years.
In 2015, for having as aim the implementation of the project, the teacher included the blog as part of the Teaching Plan from the English Language I subject, therefore, all the teachers and students involved would be aware of the work to be held and finally implementing the project as part of the discipline. The year 2015 has been so atypical because of the strike periods in/from Basic Education and Higher Education in the state of Parana. Thus, although the project coordinator (struggle to keep meeting with) have met with the students from the beginning of the school year, the number of breaks postponed the date the blog would air officially.
The goal of the blog is particularly to provide the Letters course students, starting by students from the English language I, a learning tool for English language, through activities available on the blog, plus it contemplates the theoretical training of these students (inviting them to discuss) through scientific texts. Every material available brings activities that students need to develop at least once a week.
In 2015 (This year), the project consists of several participants, among them are worth highlighting: the professor Alessandra Augusta Pereira da Silva, project coordinator and responsible for the discipline throughout 2015..The other professors Soraia Teixeira Sonsin and Mariana Furio, who both share responsibilities in the subject and in the project. . Wellington (full name), student from the Economics course, was also a major contributor in the system deployment, and all the students from English Language I subject who made teams to perform tasks for the development and maintenance of the blog. Thanks, greatly, to all participants and contributors of this project, in addition to internet users who will be able to post comments and participate in the project indirectly by reading the texts that constitute it.
